[There are things Araceli could say about the healing or spirits – things Araceli doesn't fully trust exactly, not after certain experiences – but she snaps her mouth shut instead.]

There's broth in a kettle by the stove, put that on to heat the first chance that you get. Not very thick, it's for thinning down something else but if she hasn't eaten for days I don't want her being sick, I don't know we've bread but we've ship's biscuits, those might be better. [Talking through this bit so Korrin has something to do while Araceli organises herself is easier, moving around the office to close books, draw the curtains, reluctantly put out the fire.] Once the broth's hot, pour it in a bowl, break the biscuits up in it or she'll hurt her jaw eating them. Have a small bowl yourself. Don't give her a big bowl, it'll overwhelm her.

[Not that all of her is surprised that Nari isn't coping but the extent of it is troubling. So much of her life seemed to tied to Sina's, now that she's gone it has to be incredibly difficult to live without her but to be in the state Korrin's describing?]

Sirena, sit down. Take a deep breath. I'll be home as soon as I can get out of the Gallows and on a ferry. If I have to, I'll swim back, please try to breathe you aren't alone, you have me, sí? [As soon as Araceli gets herself home to see what's actually going on because she doesn't like the sound of it, still, she's given all the practical advice she can give so now she just has to go home to deal with it.]

Broth in the kettle, got it. [Korrin's seen what happens when people haven't eaten in a while and then gorge, so she's relieved they have something light.] I can manage that, as long as she's still enough to let me move away for a little bit.

[She takes that deep breath as requested and tries to focus.] Thank you, kadan. I'm sure she'd thank you too, if she could. Just...one thing at a time.

Korrin, what does that mean? Still enough to let you move away? [She's more worried now, papers scooped up under her arms, the office door shut up behind her with a definite sort of slam. Hopefully Korrin'll think her huffing breath is the cold alone, not her hurrying her way down the halls, down the stairs, still on the sending crystal.]

De nada, I won't be long, if you need to keep talking, keep talking.

She was hysterical when she snapped out of it, so I let her cling and cry. If I can move without setting her off again, I will.

[Sigh.]

She was staying with Sina for so long and now, I don't think she has anyone. Should we keep her with us for now, Araceli? [Genuine question, she'll find another way for Nari if her kadan thinks it will be too little space for three. But it's obvious Nahariel needs someone with her.]

[As much as she wants to help, there are times that someone can kill with kindness. Phrasing that now as she makes her way home is tricky. Korrin has a big heart, it's something Araceli loves about her but there are considerations to make.]

Neither of us can now how it was for her to lose Sina, that goes without saying, but there's a balance between being with people who care for and will support her and being entirely alone. It isn't healthy for her to be attached herself to someone else to that degree so immediately that she might lose all sense of herself again. We all need comfort but the way you've described it? That isn't normal. And it isn't fair for you because you were there, because you found her, to take that on.

[Nari is there, where else can they go with her now?] We can sort that once I'm back. [Araceli stops, a muffled conversation with a ferryman instead as she holds it in her hand, the creaking of the boat, the lapping of the water.] Siento, I won't be long. Do we need anything before I get in, not saying I can get it but if there's the chance…

It isn't fair, I know. I just...she needs help, kadan.

[Korrin sighs, knowing Araceli isn't wrong about any of that. Still, it'll be easier to figure this out together, side by side.]

I don't think so, no. We have enough food and warmth here, and despite my tending to her feet, you still have plenty of oil. Fox love might help, too.

Help we might not be able to give her.

[They might be friends with all the good intentions in the world, that doesn't mean a thing in the face of helping.]

He'll be there, I prefer having him with me in the Gallows when it's like this.
